How delicious do they look? We had some the other night and trust me, they taste better than they look!!! In Cairns City we had a lousy choice of good takeaway food. We had to drive to a 'fish'n'chip' shop and were always disappoointed with some aspect of the food. Our local Thai place was nice though and there was a good pizza joint down the road but it was really pricey.
We love good (inexpensive) takeaway that is within walking distance of our home.

We don't do as much carry out as we used to, which limits what we eat. There are a couple of decent Thai restaurants within a five minute drive (I like the panang gai myself), and there's a local chain of Iranian kebab places called Moby Dick that make lamb kebabs well worth the trip... pizza we just get delivered from the local delivery place.
(I'm skipping over the meals with kids from Chipotle and Baja Fresh for a reason.)
Our main resolution this year though is to go out for one proper meal a month, and there's no shortage of places nearby for that. Having something decent without having to monitor the kids makes the baby-sitting well worth it.
I have tried all those takeaways... and they were all delicious. And the pub and the italian resturant too. YUM
Our favorite is Thai for take-out. My husband really likes to get Chinese too (it's cheaper), but I seem to have become an anti-Chinese food snob... it simply doesn't compare to Thai! We do get an occasional pizza too...
